General Summary

Responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of addiction grants and services within Behavioral Health. This role collaborates with the medical director of addictions services, and other clinical and operational leaders to provide strategic leadership to addiction services, operationalizes strategic goals and objectives and ensures all required grant activities/deliverables are carried out and achieved.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participates in discussion surrounding grant opportunities and contributes to the submission of any grant applications in collaboration with operational leadership and the grants team.

  • Provides strategic direction for addiction services, in collaboration with operational and clinical leadership. Leads necessary meetings to evaluate status of goals and objectives as related to strategic plan and grant deliverables, making adjustments to strategies and activities, as needed.

  • Regularly interfaces with internal and external stakeholders, serving as a point of contact for addiction services and grants. Leads and participates in regular committee meetings, as necessary, to develop and maintain collaborative and positive relationships with all stakeholders.

  • Collaborates with clinical leadership, develops clinical best practice standards for addiction services including, but not limited to, program standards related to census and staffing, job satisfaction, skill development, compliance with policies and regulations and referral development; documentation standards; processes to maximize utilization of services; processes to monitor and track compliance with standards and procedures related to best practice standards and regulatory standards.

  • Establishes an efficient data collection process that allows for consistent data collection. Monitors data to identify trends and opportunities and reports data to relevant stakeholders

  • Uses data to facilitate process improvement and develops action plans, as necessary, to improve in areas identified and meet goals and objectives in relation to strategic plan and grant deliverables. This includes, but is not limited to, performance of grant related services, customer satisfaction of patients, families, collaborating partners, MCO's, and county agencies, quality of clinical services, and compliance with all grant and regulatory requirements.

  • Develops and manages addiction services budget and manages allocation of grant funds for grant approved services, which includes, but is not limited to maintaining awareness of MCO procedures and requirements to bill for services.

Common Expectations:

  • Participates in required trainings and leadership meetings and maintains up-to-date knowledge regarding addiction services, including new evidence-based service delivery models, commonly used substances, and vulnerabilities of those with an addiction.

  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills with the ability to compose necessary reports for grant reporting.

  • Participates in strategic planning.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Masters Degree In psychology, organizational development, behavioral health or related field. Required

Work Experience:

  • 4 years Significant management experience in a health-related field. Required

  • 1 year Experience working in the addiction services field. Required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Interpersonal skills, both verbal and listening, necessary to communicate effectively with others in the accomplishment of administrative and clinical duties as well as in community contacts.

  • Analytical skills necessary for the interpretation of financial and performance improvement data, the design of treatment plans, and the evaluation of effectiveness and efficient of treatment programs.

  • Analytical skills necessary in order to organize, plan, and direct the work of operational aspects of clinical programs, including implementation of the strategic, marketing, and financial plans for the program.
